Please see our related article for more details. This book announcement should not come as a shock to long-time fans of the light novel series.
Three years later, this plan began to change. RainCloud asked if there was any way RainCloud could take action against this copyright violation. Clearly frustrated by this turn of events, Maruyama admitted that his motivation to write Overlord had been slowly going down the drain over the years.
Shockingly, Maruyama admitted that he was tempted to go back to being a corporate employee after finishing writing the Overlord light novel series! In order to end with Overlord Volume 17, Maruyama said he would need to cut down the amount of planned story content. German publisher KSM Anime claimed that Maruyama said that ending Overlord Volume 17 was the final plan, but other attendees claimed that Maruyama simply said that he was losing the energy to write and he is very tired.
He would first aim for completing 17 books because even finishing 16 volumes is exhausting.
Vielleicht noch ein kleiner Eindruck von unserer Overlord Signing Session gestern? Speaking of difficulty, ending with Volume 17 puts animation studio Madhouse in a tough spot when it comes to adapting the ending of the Overlord anime.
The studio has been adapting three books per season, so ending with Volume 17 makes for difficult story pacing. Perhaps the studio will end up creating an Overlord movie for the ending? After all, Maruyama has been talking about ending the story with epic-scale battles and no one wants a repeat of the CGI monsters of the third season.
In the meantime, Maruyama is still working on Overlord Volume The book does not have an official release date, but Maruyama once tweeted that he hoped Santa has a present ready for Christmas Stay tuned! Opinion Recaps Reviews Interviews Explainers.

Because of this, she is considered an enigmatic woman by others. Due to her short stature, she is called "Shorty" by Gagaran. Evileye's young appearance is presumably due to being an immortal vampire, which caused her body to stop developing at the age of twelve.
Evileye is considered to be a sharp-tongued person by her teammates. However, her sharp attitude would instantly change whenever someone brought up the subject regarding Momon. Nonetheless, she trusts her allies highly and cares a lot for them. She has a soft spot for Momon, viewing him as a special individual who she is willing to offer praise for lovingly. Evileye can also be quite an emotional person on the inside, something that she tries to hide from her comrades.
Due to her own arrogance, she normally tends to be ignorant of information in her surroundings. The subject of girls talk like love tips that Evileye didn't consider important made her regretful about it upon becoming infatuated with Momon afterward. Evileye once looked down upon human females who are in search of a strong partner to protect them and their children.
She has always considered such trivial thought to be foolish, believing all of that could have been taken care of if one becomes powerful enough in their own right without needing somebody to protect them. However, Evileye's way of thinking seems to have apparently changed after falling in love with Momon and knowing what it was like to be protected by someone stronger than her.
Despite what the stories say about her, she was still alive and somehow ended up becoming a companion to the Thirteen Heroes during their journey together. Because she is a member of the Thirteen Heroes, Evileye has also fought alongside her companions against the Evil Deities like the Insect God and defeating it in the past back then. But due to her status as a vampire, however, Evileye's good deeds were either forgotten, erased, or never been mention before by human history.
Instead, she is currently only remembered as "Landfall," an evil legendary Vampire Lord who once destroyed a nation and met her final end by the hands of the Thirteen Heroes. In the Web Novel, throughout the past two hundred years, occasional rumors made mentions about the discovery of the magical items or treasure maps that once belonged to Landfall.
Around two hundred years after the disbandment of the group, she was found by Rigrit Bers Caurauan old friend and former companion of the Thirteen Heroes. Upon meeting Rigrit, the old woman decided to make an unknown bet with the vampire and that if she wins, Evileye shall take her place in Blue Roses.
While she no longer goes by the name known as "Landfall," the vampire now hides under the name called Evileye, Blue Rose's arcane magic caster, as well as the most powerful magic-user in the Re-Estize Kingdom. Evileye was first seen sharing the same table with Gagaran in a high-class inn for adventurers.
There, she advised Climb about his current state as a warrior and started to share stories about the Thirteen Heroes, Eight Greed Kings and the new adamantite adventurers that recently made their appearance in E-Rantel. Gagaran, unfortunately, crossed paths with Entoma when she was eating a human arm and decided to kill her. As Gagaran was losing the battle, Tia rushed in to help out her comrade and Evileye appeared later to aid them by boosting their chances in defeating Entoma with the help of her original insecticide spell.
They were successful in defeating Entoma. However, before Entoma could be slain, Demiurgewhose face was covered completely in an exquisite mask, arrived in time and saved her from getting killed. Her instincts gave out warnings that it would be impossible to face the demon before them, even with the combined effort of the three of them.
She then shouted for Gagaran and Tia to retreat. Unfortunately, it was already too late as the two of them could not teleport and they were killed by Demiurge's Hellfire Wall. Just as Evileye was prepared to accept her own death at the hands of the devil, Momon suddenly appeared and saved her life. With the arrival of Momon and Nabethis caused Jaldabaoth to withdraw temporarily. During these events that had transpired, she began to become infatuated with Momon.
Thereafter, Evileye along with Lakyus and Princess Renner gathered all of the adventurers that were present within the city walls to counterattack the demon hordes who were rampaging the city. She briefly introduced Momon and Nabe of Darkness who are going to take part in their plan.Who's this Kino Fasrith Inberun?
Evileye I guess from the illustration? Seems like an alternate starting for overlord. Instead of momonga starting the transfer to the new world in the throne he did it outside. Because of that he most likely transfered to the past of the new world compared to the cannon story and the distination and time is most likely when Landfall aka Evileye and most likely Kino Fasrith Inberun from the illustration destroyed a city mentioned in cannon. It's just a theory, but the other players could have been one of those legendary figures in the story.
I think in the Kingdom arc where we often read from the eyesight from Evileye were written that Evileye was 'turned' into a vampire when she was 12 years old. So probably some accidant accured Landfall or somethink like that all people died in the village except Evileye aka Kino Fasrith Inberunshe was turned into a vampire and because of that she became one of the 13 heroes 'Landfall' in the legends Also, this looks damn interesting.
Thanks for the chapter! What is this lol Um could the person he met be evileye? Although I prefer the light novel version more this is interesting too Strange though. Thanks for the translation. You put the wrong pronouns though in a few places. Thanks to the translation team. If I remember correctly, Inberun and that it was EvilEye's real name was mentioned by the old woman in the intermission with Platinum Dragon Lord.
I'm guessing in this alternate story, Suzuki has been transported years earlier than in the main story, when the "13 heroes" made their appearance. It looks very, very interesting, anyone know if the author plans to continue this line of argument, I would like to see a very different role Momonga the governor Nazarick.
An alternate point of storytelling ,this is interesting. I have to asked about this story though, does it included or excluded from yen's press overlord embargo? What a surprise, this one is not listed in the overlord page even thou the corssover with Altina is. Got something new to read, happy. It's sad that Evil Eye's love may lead her to be sacreficed to Etoma, since Ainz doesn't tolerate attacking his beloved children.
If she had ignored Etoma she maybe could have become part of Nazarik. Well the one at fault would be the she man parthner. All of them should be sent to the cockroachroom. Wow, that change of setting and scenery caught my by surprise and I actually hope there is more to come! So whatever happens, consider me intrigued! Sky translation team, thank you very much once again!
You guys give me a reason to go on. Does this continue? I would be overjoyed if it did, please anyone let me know it it has more chapters or part 2 atlest. I doubt Maruyama will continue this, but if he does, I hope it's a full fledged spin-off series he keeps in the back off his head to continue when Overlord is done.
I would love a good-guy Ainz route where he fights tyrannic players from the shadows a-la PDL. Makes sense since he is much less inclined to commit evil acts based on petty desires thanks to his undead psyche, and no Nazarick to influence him to commit atrocities.
More of an uphill struggle since he is alone and without his treasury. A guy can dream, eh. Now just to listen to the audio content. The story takes place in the year when virtual reality gaming is booming.Overlord: Emissary of the King - Part 1

Kugane Maruyama's Overlord has become increasingly popular in the last few years as the series' anime adaptation has helped spread it to a whole new wave of fans. The series' late in life popularity means that many of the light novels are being translated at a rate that not all fans are patient enough to wait for.
This has caused the rise of fan translations of the original light novels as they release in Japan, and Maruyama recently responded to a recent fan-translation online. Expressing frustration on Twitter, Maruyama mentioned how he's losing motivation for the series and may even end the series even earlier than originally planned.
Light Novel author Maruyama Kugane has expressed shock over the fact that overseas fans are releasing free translations of his overlord series and threatened to give up on writing. A special side story book in the Overlord series titled "The Vampire Princess of the Lost Country" was distributed as a reward to fans who purchased every Blu-ray and DVD release of Overlord 's third season.
One fan shared a link to an English fan-translation of this text posted on Reddit with Maruyama, and asked the creator whether or not there was a way to take action against it. Though the initial Reddit post is deleted now, this was enough to take the wind out of Maruyama's sails. Responding to the fan on Twitterit was clear Maruyama was frustrated by this, "Oh man, really?
My motivation to write has been going down the drain. Maybe I should finish Overlord and go back to being a company employee Well, for now, I'll cut down on the planned story content and aim to finish the series at volume 17! Maruyama previously estimated that Overlord would come to an end around Volume 18 or so, but as of this writing it's not quite clear as to whether or not he's serious about ending the series early.
The tone of the tweet can be read either way, but it's clear that the fan-translation has definitely thrown Maruyama for a loop. The English releases of the Overlord light novels are a few volumes behind its release in Japan, and this is a result of the massive undertaking translating a light novel takes.
But joking about the end of the series or not, fans might want to think twice about perusing through fan-translations of this work as Maruyama has expressed a clear frustration with this practice. Overlord was first created as a light novel series written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin in Later acquired by Enterbrain and licensed for a manga by Kadokawa, the series follows Momonga, a player in the midst of the world's biggest MMORPG on the day it shuts down.
But when he gets transported into the world of the game as his player character, he decides to take over the world as the new overlord, Ains Ooal Gown. The series has been adapted into three seasons, and two compilation films. Did you know ComicBook. Catch the newest episode right here or subscribe on iTunes today! Remember me on this device Login. They also did not discuss whether or not animation studio Madhouse would be returning to produce Overlord Season 4. Keep in mind that even though Sugawara wrote the scripts for all three Overlord seasons for Madhouse the scriptwriter is still a freelancer who has worked with many Japanese animation studios including Lerche and A-1 Pictures.

The story first started life as a web novel back inbut starting in Kugane teamed up with illustrator so-bin to adapt the story into the light novel format. Japanese publisher Enterbrain released Overlord Volume 13 in April The newer light novels followed the web novel pretty closely but then began to diverge significantly starting with Volume 10 which also just happens to be the starting point for the anime Overlord Season 4.
The story also spawned an Overlord manga series by writer Satoshi Oshio and illustrator Hugin Miyama. Serialized in the monthly magazine Comp Ace, the Overlord manga is up to Volume 11 as of February The official English translation for the Overlord manga and light novel series is handled by Yen Press.
The English novels are only up to Volume 10, but Volume 11 is scheduled to release on October 29, The unofficial fan translator Skythewood announced that they have discontinued the English-based fan translation project due to the Yen Press acquisition. However, the English translation of the web novel continues unabated.

In Mayhe tweeted out that he was planning on ending Overlord with Volume A month later, a Twitter user named RainyCloud pointed out to Maruyama that an English translation had been uploaded to an overseas website. He asked if there was any way the author could take legal measures against this copyright violation.
In response, Maruyama said that his motivation to write Overlord had been going down the drain. He even suggested that he might go back to being a company employee after finishing Overlord! Maruyama also stated that he was planning on cutting down the amount of story content in order to finish the light novel series.
He claimed it would be difficult to conclude with Volume 16, so he decided to take things at a moderate pace and target Overlord Volume 17 for the ending. However, other attendees claimed that Maruyama simply said that he was losing the energy to write and he is very tired.
He would first aim for completing 17 books because even finishing 16 volumes is exhausting. Volume 12 was delayed by a month and Overlord Volume 13 was supposed to come out in Decemberbut it was not published until April To be fair, Volume 13 was also a longer book, numbering pages compared to the pages of Volume The author also tweeted that he hopes Santa has a present ready for Christmas While some fans may bemoan any delay, at least they can go look forward to the story becoming more action-packed.
Volume 9 gave a taste of total war, but future volumes will have even more large-scale warfare. Studio Madhouse seems to be sticking to a formula of adapting three books for every Overlord anime season. The second season covered the events of volumes 4 through 6 and Episode The Final Battle of the Disturbance was named after a chapter in Volume 6.
Overlord Season 3 will maintain this pacing, but there will be some major reordering of events. You see, the books have a bad habit of portraying events out of chronological order. Some scenes were written from the perspective of one character only to replay these scenes from another perspective in order to reveal new information.
